Should I be concerned about fraud?

Fraud Alert…Don’t even trust close family or your boyfriend/girlfriend with your bank account information. You all know a story where those relationships have gone “south.”

Do not let someone else handle your direct deposit information on the IRS website. Struggle through it yourself or wait until it is mailed to your house. If your address is incorrect, fill out the IRS Form 8822 available at www.IRS.gov, and search Form 8822. Print it out and mail it to the address on the form instructions.

How long will I have to wait for my IRS and state refunds?

IRS refunds efiled are being direct deposited in about 4 – 12 weeks right now. The IRS is still struggling with a backlog. EIC returns are not funded, by law, until after February 15th of a given year. State EIC are frequently held up for additional processing and could take 4–6 weeks.
