These checks should go out beginning next week. Your stimulus check will go to you the same way the first one got to you....first to those with direct deposit then to those by mail. I hope the IRS has your current address on file. If not, get to your post office and put in a change of address form ASAP. You can do this on line at USPS.com and it becomes effective within a few days.
Refunds efiled are being direct deposited in about 2 weeks right now--A few days longer if it is mailed to your home. EIC returns are not funded, by law, until after February 15th of a given year. State EIC are frequently held up for additional processing and could take 4 – 6 weeks.
As of August, if you have recently called the IRS Stimulus Hotline and they say they will be issuing a check, clients are telling us it is taking about 3-5 weeks to get that check. The IRS says it will continue mailing Economic Payment checks through 2020. In your 2020 tax return, which you do January through April 15th 2021, there will be a credit form that we can prepare for you, asking for additional stimulus. So if you never received it or if the amount you receive was incorrect or didn’t give you credit for a dependent, it can be corrected and requested when you do your 2021 taxes.
No:)
No, if you are married to someone without an active social security card, no matter where they are in the green card or immigration process, you, the tax payer, will not be eligible to get the $1200.00. However, if you are in the military, you can.
Yes. A good estimate for how much you will have to pay back for most people is 12%. If you get a good size refund, expect it to be that much smaller. If you usually get a small refund, you could end up owing.
We are not providing a service to help clients with their SBA loan applications. There are many different Covid-19 relief programs for small businesses on the SBA website. Go to www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance for all the details of the various programs. Also talk with your primary business bank for their procedures. The most common program for small business right now is the Paycheck Protection Program. To prepare for this program you will have to know your 2019 and 2020 payroll as well as your 2019 Independent Contractor costs (1099-Misc) that you filed by person as reported to the IRS.
Yes we are.
We are now mostly virtual (see above). We do have restricted hours and staff so be patient with us. We can only have so many people in the office at a time. We are hoping to move toward a hybrid in person/virtual approach, but we will have to see what happens with the virus before we know for sure how our business will operate.

Depending on the complexity of your return, turn-around time is 2 - 5 business days. Again, we are processing returns on a first come first service basis, and you don't get in the "line" until all your documents have been received.
We will input your documentation and then follow up with a phone call to ask you questions and provide your results. We will then send you a "Request for Signatures" email through our e-signature app. If for some reason, you experience problems with that app, we will mail you signature documents and you will either need to return them through the mail or scan them and send them through email.
We will take payment with debit or credit cards over the phone prior to e-filing. Or you can write us a check. What ever you prefer.
Fraud Alert...Don't even trust close family or your boyfriend/girlfriend with your bank account information. You all know a story where those relationships have gone "south".
Do not let someone else handle your direct deposit information on the IRS website. Struggle through it yourself or wait until it is mailed to your house. If your address is incorrect, fill out the IRS Form 8822 available at www.IRS.gov, and search Form 8822. Print it out and mail it to the address on the form instructions.
